I’m Sophia de Lange Mora, a senior fashion design major at The Fashion Institute of Technology, currently working towards my Bachelor's degree after having earned my Associates.

When asked to describe my future fashion brand, I always use the word theatrical. Believing that beauty can be found in the most haunting places, I’m dedicated to unveiling the romanticized allure of what is often considered eerie or unconventional. Often inspired by fantasy or nostalgia, my collections are like short stories, each telling a unique narrative while emphasizing the hidden elegance within melancholic themes. My designs are made for those who seek to express a mature form of childlike innocence. Femininity is fused with tailored pieces, exposed vulnerability, and delicate yet distressed details, all alongside sustainable fashion practices.

Grateful for the opportunity to study my lifelong passion, I decided that creating my own website would be the perfect way to further grow and showcase my talents as a future designer. My time at school has equipped me with a wide range of creative skills, including rendering, garment construction, draping, tech packages, and proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator. I am currently taking a CLO class and working on my thesis.

Excited to introduce de Lange as my future brand, I will continue sharing my design work.

Please enjoy, and don’t hesitate to reach out!

Included in my resume are past experiences working with Snow Xue Gao, a New York luxury womenswear brand, where I assisted in creating digital prints and patterns, making sewing alterations, and producing engaging content for the store and social media. During my time as an intern at Arianne Elmy, I was responsible for sourcing fabrics and materials, making sewing alterations, assisting with packaging deliveries, and handling errands. I also regularly communicated with the design team and external contacts to ensure smooth operations and timely completion of tasks. Additionally, I’ve gained experience working with KCD, a worldwide fashion services agency, during NYFW for Dion Lee, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, and Dennis Basso for their S/S '22 collection. In these roles, I helped with model casting, alterations, and backstage support, further expanding my business knowledge of the fashion industry.
